Sharkah Chakra
Each pair of Sharkah Chakra jeans is woven by hand out of organic, fair-trade cotton from the fields of West Africa. The cotton is dyed using pure natural indigo, instead of synthetic dyes which are worse for the environment, the workers, and your skin. Over the course of a month, skilled denim makers dip each hank of cotton thread into natural indigo pots -- sometimes up to thirty times -- to reach the desired color. Once ready for weaving, the cotton goes to India, where it is woven by village artisans; you can see the slight imperfections in the finished fabric that indicate hand-looming. Each weavemaster signs his or her denim masterpiece -- you need only peek inside the seams to find their autographs. The jeans are finished with a gold rivet made out of recycled gold plating, meant to symbolize all the hands that went into producing each pair.

Del Forte Denim
Del Forte’s forte is transforming the face of luxury denim. While many denim brands outsource their production to overseas sweatshops, Del Forte denim is all sewn and finished in Los Angeles out of 100% organic cotton. And their commitment to green doesn’t just include clothing! In their office, they use only New Leaf paper, vegetable-based inks, and even a carbon neutral company to do their web hosting! Even better? Part of the proceeds from every pair of jeans goes to the Sustainable Cotton Project, which dedicates itself to making organic cotton a viable alternative to conventionally produced cotton. (By the by -- the jeans are completely adorable, too.)
