Being Brooke Burke

When she’s not rubbing shoulders with rock stars or producing pilots, fellow mama with mojo Brooke Burke is running a business and raising a trio of daughters -- while expecting her first son! (See the nursery here!)

Delve into Brooke’s interview with Isabelle to read more about what the future holds for this gorgeous model-host-actress-mama...

RockStar Mama

Isabelle: As someone expecting her first baby, it’s exciting to me that you are expecting your fourth [with actor David Charvet] -- Congratulations! How are you feeling?

Brooke: I feel great! Fortunately, I’ve had four pretty easy, healthy pregnancies [with daughters Neriah, Sierra and Rain]. I feel really good…thank you.

Isabelle: I caught a quote of yours where you said -- and I loved this -- you said, "When I was young, I wanted to do something innocuous, like become a drummer in a rock-and-roll band."  My girlfriend Syd had me hooked on both RockStar INXS and RockStar Supernova -- thanks in no small part to you!

Brooke: Thanks! It was such fun to work on; it was a really, really great gig...

I think one of the things a lot of people didn’t know about that show was that we taped at 6:00am; although it looked like a rock-and-roll concert, we really felt for the contestants. Sometimes they would pull an all-nighter, and we’d start rehearsing at 5:00am. It’d look like a raging Friday night, but it was the wee hours of the morning. It was really tough on them. Not only to perform, but to really be able to sing at that hour. But it was a great experience.

Isabelle: I cannot imagine looking that good at 6:00 in the morning! Of course, you’re starting from a good place, but everyone just looked stunning and wide awake, like you were ready to go out afterwards.

Brooke: (Laughing) That’s a lot of hair and makeup! And of course the lighting didn’t hurt either!

Isabelle: In both seasons of RockStar, some of the female contestants truly shone. Do you sometimes feel women may have a more challenging time “making it” in the music world -- or in the entertainment industry in general?
