Sydney Sits Down with the Freckleface Strawberry,
Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore first appeared on my daughter Skye’s radar when she starred alongside the debonair Count Von Count in "Far From Seven" on Sesame Street. Now, Ms. Moore is one of Skye’s favorite authors as well. As a long-time fan, I had great fun getting to know this lovely actor, author and mama...I think you will, too!

Sydney: We have read your new book, Freckleface Strawberry, so many times! Literally, it's one of those books brought to me over and over...

Julianne: I am so happy to hear that! Nothing makes me happier; because as a parent, I know the books I like to read and the books that they like to have read.

Sydney: The best part is I don't mind reading it over and over! (laughing) You know how it is. You're always glad when they want to read, but sometimes they bring one to you and you're thinking, "Ugh..."

Julianne: Absolutely! "I could do without this book, not now..."

Sydney: Freckleface Strawberry is for kids, but it's as much a gift to the parents -- taking us back to those pivotal moments in childhood.

Julianne: It's funny because everyone keeps saying that to me! It was very specific to me that this child be seven, even though some of the kids reading it will be younger. When my son was seven, it was the first time he looked in the mirror and he had one new tooth coming in and it was huge, they way they always are in a little mouth...

Sydney: With all those ridges on the bottom?

Julianne: Yes! And he said, "Mom, this tooth looks really big, and it's not like all my other teeth...and I don't like my hair..."
