Mama Rock: Not necessarily my family, but [there was] a young man who wanted to emulate neighborhood hoodlums. However, when he was identified as one of them and treated as one, he quickly found out that being part of that group was nothing he desired to do. He did not want to answer to what he was called.

Isabelle: For me, as I look forward to raising my baby-on-the-way, your words “failure is the ultimate motivator” will surely keep me on point as a parent...but I am still a bit worried! You have done such a remarkable job raising healthy, well-adjusted, spiritually sound and successful children. Now looking back, were there times you were panicked? Please tell us once they’re all grown, if we’re consistent in our parenting, it works out all right!

Mama Rock: My son Brian, after five years pre-med, took a job on the "Chris Rock Show." I was horrified -- but today, not only is he a minister, he is also a fraud analyst for AutoTrader.com. My son Jordan decided to smoke marijuana and act out in school. I actually had to make a decision that he could not stay at home and continue to act in that manner. Today, Jordan is doing well in school and starting a comedy career of his own.

Isabelle: Mrs. Rock, after reading your book, I truly feel like I am going to need refreshers of your parenting insight! Will you be taking your now locally-based The Mom Show to a broader audience? Will you be writing another book? Could you make a house call and help me with my mothering? What’s next on your plate?

Mama Rock: I would love to get a TV or radio show from this. That would be the greatest thing to reach parents all over. And yes, there is another book already in the works.
