Warm and Cozy Winter Nights
by Sydney
Sisters, a collective sigh of relief is certainly in order. With the last holiday hurrahs of 2007 finally behind, there's nothing more this mama craves than an evening of retail recovery in my very own post-yuletide decompression chamber.
The weather outside may be frigidly frightful, but Girls, that fireplace is oh, so delightful! What could be more fabulous than cozying up with your sweetheart and enjoying an evening of domestic revelry and romance rekindling, in front of that heavenly hearth?
Flipping through photographic proof of our most romantic romps around the world provides fabulous fodder for inspiration. True, true -- Napa is always nice, but a snuggly armchair tour through wine country compliments of imbibement intelligence gleaned from a professional and local wine connoisseur is quintessentially quaint, thank you!
A Shiatsu massage in front of the fireplace might not beat the Swedish beachside version we relished along the Caribbean, but will make for quite the contender. I am the number one proponent of the platform that all things good originate from a thoroughly romantic rubdown coupled with a glass or two of my favorite red -- not necessarily in that order, natch.
With sweet Skye's night bag packed for a trip tip-toeing through dreamland daisies, Dad and I need not flock far to treat ourselves to the caliber of calm to which we were pre-partumly privy. The Carlyle? Turtle Island? Kahala or Amanpuri? Clearly the choicest of destinations, but when the parity of parenthood hones us homeward, our own abode possesses all the makings of the coziest of romantic getaways… a sybaritic sojourn that's perfectly posh.
Winter's wrath whipping away out there serves as a most consistent reminder that basking in the warm glow of the summer sun is still many pedis away… But in the meantime, do not humbly hibernate -- luxuriate!
Snuggle down, Sisters!
