DECK OUT YOUR DECK
Analogies and admonitions from Allie
Being “centered” is important; but so is acknowledging the relevance of your perimeter.
What you wear is an extension of your personal style. Your expressions are extensions of your inner emotions. And likewise, the plot of earth surrounding your residence is an extension of your home — not your house, but your home.
After the duties of the day — when the weather’s warm — my man and I place Mai and Ringo in patio-friendly bouncy seats and collectively, we enjoy the environment. Serenity and solace. Fresh air and fireflies. Flowers and photo ops. (I haven’t got Sydney’s gift, so natural light aids my picture taking proficiency.)
Community is created while communing with nature.
Gather a group and glory in the outdoors. Make like the impressionists and paint. Reacquaint. Dine. Have wine. Play guitars. Climb monkey-bars. Egg-hunt en plein air.
Laughter and love experienced in the backyard are an extension of your family’s well-being. Facilitate the fun accordingly.
