Tiii-i-i-ime is on My Side...
Yes, it is.
For the first year (or so) of Skye’s life, I tardily tumbled on, unabashedly using the I-have-an-infant scapegoat. Twenty-nine minutes late for cocktails ‘n yoga with Allie (sometimes in that order)? “Skye was cranky.” Seventy-eight minutes too late for a photo shoot? Ditto.
And then, a guilt-inducing realization: Skye is the sweetest, most divine entity to ever befall my existence -- she is no scapegoat, and should never serve as such again.
It was time to grasp the reigns of this wanton world of chaos and start getting things done again by managing my minutes!
I was so far gone down the path of time mis-management, I needed a guru, who came in the form of one, gorgeous Isabelle -- corporate queen, reign supreme. ‘Twas Miss Is. who introduced me to the awe-inspiring world of GTD (Get Things Done) software, from Google’s Calendar to Vitalist.com.
It was at that moment I became, minute-and-second hands down, the most punctual person to ever wield a watch. Like my favorite time-management blogger at A Matter of Time says, “It truly is amazing what can be accomplished in one minute.”
Invoking the essence of Einstein: Time is relative, and will defy your every preconceived notion of such prior to producing progeny.
Whilst in the throes of infanthood, toddlerhood or even the teenage years, we will languish, but once that chapter in our child’s life has closed, we yearn, burn and perpetually pine for what once was. Ah, c’est la vie, mes amis, making the most poignant case for maximizing every moment with which we are blessed with this breath of life.
Now, go forth and discover the marvels of the micro-minute.
Tick Tock,
