A lot of people probably don’t know that your oldest son, Jake, has epilepsy. When was he first diagnosed and how did your family deal with the diagnosis?
Jake was diagnosed just before his 7th birthday - he's 10 now. We dealt with it the way any other family would deal with news like this, we cried a lot. Then we raced to get the best care possible and found it in UCLA's Pediatric Neurology with Dr. Raman Sankar. He and his team have been working tirelessly treating children like Jake almost 24/7. They are the real heroes.

Epilepsy is something most people – including me – know fairly little about. What can you tell us about the disease and how it affects those who have it?
To find out all you need to know, please go to our website at www.4pep.org. And to donate money or purchase products for the holidays that directly benefit the fight against epilepsy, go to: www.celebritycards.com. Thanks so much!

Is there any chance at a cure or permanent solution to epilepsy?
There is always a chance.  With the brilliant minds working so hard all over the world, I truly believe Jake and children like him will NOT have to live with this terrible disorder for the majority of their lives. With stem cell research and the many other strides the medical community is making right now, the chances are getting better and better all the time, but they need our support... wink, wink.

Why is it that epilepsy doesn’t receive the same public attention as other diseases?
Unfortunately there is a stigma attached to epilepsy that keeps those affected from disclosing it to friends and coworkers, etc. They feel they may be unfairly discriminated against because of the lack of information available and ignorance associated with the disease. If everyone knew more about epilepsy that stigma may not exist. We must talk about epilepsy.  We must all learn as much as possible and realize that you can live a perfectly normal life with epilepsy. All you need is to have people around you who are not scared if you should have a seizure. As long as you wear a medical bracelet and carry your emergency medication, those around you won't be scared, and shouldn't be.

How do you maintain a balance between work and family life, and how does your fabulous wife maintain her mojo with everything she has going on?
My wife and I have an open relationship. We swing. Kidding!  We both love to keep busy and seem to find time to produce some of the finest mojo on the market today.

Do the two of you have date nights or anything special you do together to escape from the pressures of everyday life once in a while?
Fortunately, one of the perks associated with my job is that I'm often asked to travel to exotic places and participate in worthwhile charity events (golf tournaments, fashion shows, concerts, etc.). So, we take advantage of these trips. They become romantic getaways. That, and we try to do a date night at least twice a month.
