  • Winter Wows: Treat or No Treat?

Has anyone tried the bath and body line from Dylan's Candy Bar? Called "Re-Treat" (get it?), it promises to be a "sweet escape for body and soul"...

Looks like a potentially tasty stocking stuffer to us!

Now, will you please help us settle our boot battle...?

  • Fall Finds: Bitchin' Boots... or Not?

Well, here we are again, with a split decision. Syd says these Christian Louboutin Fringe Cutout Boots are bitchin'. Isabelle thinks "not so much..."

What say you, Mamas with Mojo? To strut, or not to strut -- that is the question.

And please also recall that, while they may be a bit much paired with our bracelet, they match our lips. This could be crucial to your decision!

  • Fall Finds: Dressing for Thanksgiving

No matter how many buttons you have to undo post-turkey, this gorgeous Rosena Sammi Dohlak Bracelet will still fit!

    Loves it!

Want more? Don't miss your chance to check out our lips!

  • Fall Finds: Shiny Red Shoe Lips

Lancome's latest make-up artistic director, handsome Kiwi Aaron De Mey, is making quite a splash with his debut creation.  Behold the Piha Red/Piha Black lip set, which can be layered and worn together or rocked separately (with the Piha Black solo as an eye gloss)...

Stunning, right? And at only $48, I know your next question: How do I get those gorgeous lips for myself?

Lucky girls that we are, we scored some samples, and have been rockin' these sultry, vampy lips ever since summer said sayonara. But if you, Busy Mama, don't have your name on a list yet, you need to get on one tout de suite. Only 500 sets of these sweet lips will be made available, and they should be in any day now (hint hint). And did we mention that the red was inspired by the stunning heel hue of your favorite shoe? That's right. We knew you recognized the color.

And btw, it looks uh-mazing paired with our new party dress...

  • Fall Finds: Perfect Party Dress or Ruffle Butt Fiasco?

I think we love this dress from Caroline Hedaya. But we might not. But I think we do...

    Do you?
We totally could have rocked it this past weekend!

If you want it as bad as two of us do, you can order one here, and look here if you're craving more Fall Finds!

  • Fall Finds: Itchy Vickie in Miami

If you're not busy this weekend, toss your stilettos in a carry-on and catch a direct to Miami. You're certainly every bit as fabulous as they are, so why not join the Victoria Secret models at Fontainebleau Miami Beach for their annual fashion show? Meet impossibly hot new mama Alessandro Ambrosio and fierce seasoned maternal sensation Heidi Klum, sip a mojito with Marisa Miller or shimmy to Guetta and Tiesto with Adriana Lima at LIV's after party.

But whatever you do...? Leave your Angels Secret Embrace and Very Sexy Extreme Me Push-Up bras at home.

Women across the country are complaining that the bras have caused rashes, hives and even permanent scarring -- and talks of a potential class action lawsuit are underway. What would cause such discomfort? Researchers are indicating the bras have tested positive for the chemical formaldehyde. Ew.

Natch, Victoria's Secret isn't amused, and has issued the following statement:
"We have strict quality controls around our products, and we do not use formaldehyde in our bras."

So...lawsuit, shmaw-suit. Forget the bras, pack a bikini and come on, Mamas! We're goin' to Miami!

(And yes, while we wouldn't necessarily touch them, the bras are still for sale.)

Want more? Did you get hot, hot, sticky sweet yet?

  • Fall Finds: Salty Sweet Yummy Goodness

Starbucks has introduced something divinely delicious this fall -- and not just that handsome and young (but legal, tyvm) young barista that started last month. No, no, Mamas, if it is that perfect combination of salty and sweet that you crave, we know just the thing!

Behold the Salted Caramel Signature Hot Chocolate from Starbucks. Allow us to emphasize: Salt. Caramel. Chocolate. It is seriously yummy -- we're addicted!

If you haven't had one already, make it a point. Hopefully you'll enjoy some eye candy, too!

Did you miss the last Fall Find? It's FIERCE!

  • Fall Finds: Fierce!

Looking for something fabulous this fall?

We're kicking off our "Fall Finds" with the ultra-fierce Project Runway winner Christian Siriano. He has partnered with the founders of Moody Mamas to create a new line of maternity wear, and they're offering up a holiday capsule collection starting this weekend at Belly Dance Maternity. Christian will join Elise Rosemarin and Marta Abrams in the New York Belly Dance Maternity 11/8/08 and in the Chicago store on 11/15/08 to debut the capsule.

Siriano and the Moody Mamas are developing a line of high fashion, yet functional, pieces including dresses, skirts, boleros and stylish tops to ensure that moms-to-be look “fierce” during every stage of pregnancy. The holiday collection, available for pre-order at Belly Dance Maternity, shines with fabulous festive shades enhanced with elegant beading and trimming -- and all at affordable prices.

By all means, Mamas... be FIERCE* this holiday season!

*this concludes our over-usage of the word "fierce"... for now!

  • Rock the Pink: Woo!

Mamas, please meet Alex Woo. Alex Woo, please introduce your gorgeous Open Heart Necklace to our Mamas' necks...

Pretty, yes? Of course. But in addition, this bauble is benefitting the boobs!

With a sleek disc of sterling silver or 14kt Rose Gold accentuated by a delicate cutout heart, the graceful necklaces are both meaningful and timeless. Inscribed on the back with a reminder, “live.love.be involved,” the necklaces are designed to be worn by any woman as an everyday reminder of life’s important lessons, to contribute to the fight against breast cancer, and to remember to get breast exams.

Net proceeds from the sale of the Open Heart Necklace go directly to the Woman’s Cancer Research Fund (WCFR). The Alex Woo Open Heart Necklace is a permanent piece of her collection with net proceeds benefiting women’s cancer research for years to come.

    Wait. Permanent?

    Not just for October?

    That rocks!

Why does Alex go the extra mile that so many companies shirk?

Like so many of us, Alex has been touched by breast cancer directly. She honors her mother, who died of breast cancer, by making donations year-round -- and not just to breast cancer charities, either.

Woo supports a whole host of charities because Woo Cares!

Show you care, too. Show you have a little heart.

Keep on rockin' the pink year round.

  • Rock the Pink: Cancer in Cartoons

Turning cancer into a cartoon? Sounds kind of crazy, doesn't it?

Not to author and cartoonist Marisa Acocella Marchetto. Her 2006 book Cancer Vixen documents the story of Marchetto's battle with breast cancer right before her wedding. The reviews of this book are all glowing, promising an honest and insightful, edgy, humorous and honest take on battling breast cancer.

“What happens when a shoe-crazy, lipstick-obsessed, wine-swilling, pasta-slurping, fashion-fanatic, single-forever, about-to-get-married big-city girl cartoonist with a fabulous life finds . . . a lump in her breast?” That’s the question that sets this powerful, funny, and poignant graphic memoir in motion. In vivid color and with a taboo-breaking sense of humor, Marisa Acocella Marchetto tells the story of her eleven-month, ultimately triumphant bout with breast cancer—from diagnosis to cure, and every challenging step in between.

But Cancer Vixen is about more than surviving an illness. It is a portrait of one woman’s supercharged life in Manhattan, and a wonderful love story. Marisa, self-described “terminal bachelorette,” meets her Prince Charming in Silvano, owner of the chic downtown restaurant Da Silvano. Three weeks before their wedding, she receives her diagnosis. She wonders: How will he react to this news? How will my world change? Will I even survive? And . . . what about my hair?

From raucous New Yorker staff lunches and the star-studded crowd at Silvano’s restaurant to the rainbow pumps Marisa wears to chemotherapy, Cancer Vixen is a total original. Marisa’s wit and courage are an inspiration—she’s a cancer vixen, not its victim.

Vibrant and beautifully brave, this graphic novel might not be for everyone -- but with proceeds going to the BCRF and St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center? This book is right for us.
