...a Mama's treasure!
Bamboo.
Sustainable. Renewable. Biodegradable. And now, thanks to Sara Kirsner, wonderfully wearable! With her line, Doie Designs, Sara honors her own style icon, her octogenarian grandmother, Doie, as well as our collective earth mother. For me, as a twin mama constantly on the move, fully aware that summer's warmth is looming ever-closer, the soft (suitable for newborns on your lap!), breathable, keep-you-cooler fabric is an ideal option...from a fashionability perspective, and from a planet-caring perspective.
My first foray into Sara's stylings? The Alus Pesar dress.

The body of the piece is the bamboo-based jersey; the stunning crane patterned hemline, pure silk.
(Does it ever feel sensual against bared summer legs -- the babes finger it as if it were the texturally appealing trim on their favorite loveys!)
Like the model pictured (wow, I don't compare myself to models often...), I have high, fairly broad shoulders, so the length of the straps works well, and keeps my posture picture-perfect. So many dresses err on the side of shorter straps, which of course can never be lengthened, so I salute Sara for her thoughtful awareness on multiple fronts!
Zhen Zhen is certainly an apropos name for the San Diego Zoo's baby panda, but I've taken to calling my Doie "zhen zhen" as well.
Precious, both.
Peace, Pandas, and Pretty Dresses--
Allie
