What sad news this morning: beloved actor and humanitarian Paul Newman has passed away.

His films are among my all-time favorites...Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Nobody's Fool, Cool Hand Luke....and the amazing Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Our Ringo was almost Brick.) His generosity to charity, his commitment to his wife of 50 years, Joanne Woodward...Mr. Newman was as legendary off-the-screen as on.

Here's hoping Turner Classic Movies, AMC, et al, plan movie marathons in his honor and memory in the coming weeks. In the meantime, our in-house date night tonight will be a viewing of The Long, Hot Summer.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family, along with gratitude for sharing this amazing man with us all.
