Freckleface Strawberry -- Great New Book for Kids!

Syd has been raving about this book since she purchased it on the day it was released (October 17th, for all you details fans). When she told me she was going to be talking to the author -- Oscar-nominee and uber-beauty, Julianne Moore -- today, I decided it was time to buy a copy and try it out on my twosome. Granted, they're a bit young (recommended for ages 4-8); but I believe in reading "up."

Mai and Ringo babbled and cooed contentedly; I adored it!

Told with believable charm, humor to spare and lively illustrations, this book sends a marvelous message of self-acceptance, friendship and the value of "difference." Undoubtedly, we'll be reading Freckleface Strawberry for many years to come. I imagine it will be extremely helpful as we segue into the school years. We can only hope the enigmatic heroine will have further adventures---a la Olivia (Ian Falconer) and Lilly (Kevin Henkes).

Now if only Miss Syd would get off the phone and tell me all about her conversation with Julianne....

    Namaste~~

    We adore this book, too!
Makes a great gift for all "Frecklefaces," of which our Irish-American family has many!
