    Re: My Circle

AllieRichie -- Cetaphil is in my top 5, too!

Do you like the tub of face cream, or the lighter stuff?

For washing my face, I love Aquaphor, and my second favorite is actually by Aveeno -- the ultra soothing face wash stuff.

(Can you tell I have sensitive skin? Wink)

    Re: My Circle

Count me in as a Cetaphil cleanser fan! (I've also heard Ashley Judd is pro-Cetaphil!)

As far as a moisturizer, I am very, very committed to sunscreen, every day, unflinchingly.
Eucerin has an SPF 30 for sensitive skin that is light and smooths in easily that I love. My dermatologist recommended it, and I've been hooked ever since. It's completely reasonably priced and available everywhere.

When Syd talked to Julianne Moore, Julianne was very pro-Oil of Olay with SPF 15. Goodness knows, her skin is gorgeous! She said something about loving the drugstore style of skin care...so down to earth!

Hmmm....I'm going to have to ponder my circle...what a great thread idea!

    Re: My Circle

I will have to agree with Cetaphil!!!  Looks like the consistent winner so far.  I don't normally have dry skin, but in Texas, since one day it is 75 deg, an the next may be 30, Cetaphil has been a life-saver!

    1.  Cetaphil

    2.  Aveeno lavender bath wash

    3.  Aveeno oatmeal exfoliant

    4.  The entire Neutrogena line of make-up  (like J. Moore, I love the drug-store line, and it is the only thing that does not cause me to blemish, even when my hormones are a little crazy! )

    5.  Lancome lipstick and lip liner in "bisque"  (very natural color--I bought this in bulk b/c it has supposedly been discontinued.)

The simplicity of my skin-care products allows me to spoil myself with other things--which lately seems to be for my spoiled little girl Aubree!  But soooooooooooo worth it!!

    Re: My Circle

    My top 5 are:

    1. The Microdelivery Peel by Philosophy- it scrubs everything from your skin, and leaves it incredibly silky, i use once a week.

    2. The Present by Philosophy (its like a primer before you put on make-up, it minimizes pores, and decreases shine) -its amazing!

    3. Shiseido spf 55 Ultimate Sun Protection Cream- i currently live in South Florida, and i am outside all the time with my son, it smells great too!

    4. La Mer Baume de la Mer- its minty, but not too minty, moisturizing, and leaves a subtle shine.

    5. Diorshow Mascara in 090(jet black)- it makes you look like you're wearing false lashes.

    Re: My Circle

That is so nice to hear! In true "reciprocate the compliment" form, I took a peek at the precious photos you posted of your sweet Dillon...what a little darling he is! Moving to NYC will be such a marvelous adventure...you'll have to share all your new haunts once there. (Of course I'd be up for hearing your Floridian finds as well...) And of course I am sure you are well aware of how handsome your fiance is...what family portraits await you all with NYC as a backdrop!

To answer, or to try to answer your question -- ugh. Not that long ago I had a debilitating back injury and have been VERY slow in returning to even my own personal yoga regimen, much less teaching. The twins do provide all sorts of "weighted" stretch and extend opportunities in the interim, that's for sure! As to where I've taught, it's been an everywhere and nowhere experience...college classes for peers (and a prof or two), supplemental courses for recreation centers, fitness clubs and even a country club for a while. Now (or at least in recent history), I tend to do individual or small private group sessions for those just starting out and seeking an introduction.

    Do you teach? Take? Enjoy?

    Re: My Circle

Thank you so much, Dillon is the joy of our lives, he is so smart and he is anticipating our move to NYC with full excitement. We have been flying up the past 9 months about every 3 weeks, so I've had plenty of time to locate my favorite stores, and find some equally interesting new places. I still have yet to find a gym/yoga studio that appeals to me, and my ever-changing fitness routine. Thank you also, for my fiances' compliment. He is also incredibly intelligent and respectful, and he works very hard for us. I know I am very lucky. It's unbelievable at times.

Of course, the twins provide the weighted streching!! Dillon is in the separation anxiety phase, and at almost three, he loves to be carried around. He is very interested in cooking and insists on watching me make dinner almost every night. I hope you injury heals well, as you need all of your strength for the babies. I actually thought about becoming a yogi, but really don't know the process, in terms of schooling. However, I am also interested in nutrition, and hollistic practices. I do enjoy yoga very much. Obviously you would know, it gives a very positive energy and substitutes my need for mucho caffeine.

I must say that Mai and Ringo, are quite lovely and unique names. How did you come to choose them?

    Re: My Circle

You're not alone in the "seeking alternatives for caffeine" realm. ;)
Despite Syd's unwillingness to admit it, Ringo was NOT named for the Beatles' percussionist! (Although he'd certainly be a worthy inspiration.)

When pondering baby names, I was ensconsed in researching origins and meanings. Ringo in Japanese means "peace be with you." I love the idea of him being at peace for his life, and bringing peace to others by his presence. [Ringo also means "apple," so we have something in common with Gwynnie and Chris Martin!] Mai is a family name (so that's automatically a plus), and has various meanings in different Asian cultures, including "dance," "elegance," "cherry blossom," and "ocean." On a completely melodramatic angle, when I visit the ocean, I feel serene, tranquil and in the presence of immeasurable power and beauty...qualities that I wish for my Mai. (those last two words rhyme...it's not "May." :)  )

To bring us back to topic, I LOVE the ButterLondon nail products. They're definitely in "My Circle!" After I blogged about them over the holidays, I heard from the babes at Butter...they're AWESOME! Makes me happy to purchase their products. :)
