SOME LIKE IT HOT
The best way I know of to keep the homefires burning chez nous? By feeling hot myself, of course! Even on those days when I barely recognize my own body –  especially now that those skinny jeans are but a distant memory – one thing always makes me feel beautiful: lingerie. Well, nobody does naughty and nice like La Perla, the French company whose unmentionables are more than worth mentioning. Trust me: any Mama who slips into some of the finest silks, lace and bows money can buy is sure to release the vixen within... even if she's been swathed in sweats and sportsbras for months!

AT YOUR SERVICE...
Though a mama of many talents I may be, the kitchen is not where I do my finest work. After Ben was born, weeks and weeks of takeout took their toll. This time, things are going to be different, as we’ll be entrusting our grateful post-partum palates to a company like Olivewood Personal Chef Services instead. These creative culinary masters love catering to the nutritional needs of new parents, and their spread of neatly labeled gastronomic delights are sure to be nearly as delicious as the sparkling-clean kitchen they’ll leave behind.

ROCK OF AGES
It’s easy to get carried away when you’re a new mom, and now that beautiful baby of yours can be, too. The Rockin’ Baby Sling is as cool as it is comfortable -- no protruding buckles or bulges to get between you and your little love as he or she is soothed to sleep and security by the comfort of motherly motion. Blessedly, you’ll find no dowdy teddy-bear or overly-darling duckie fabrics here... just an incredible selection of 25 posh patterns, from pretty paisleys and geometrics to sleek stripes and solids. My personal pick? Black with silver studs, of course!

SUMMER'S IN AND WE'RE OUT!
If Marie Antoinette were alive today, she’d surely reword her notorious refrain from “Let them eat cake!” to, “Let them take a seat!”  The Petit Toi Armchair is likely unlike any garden furniture you’ve ever encountered, whether you’re a lady at court looking for a pretty spot to faint, or a modern mama-to-be like me who just needs to take a load off by the pool or on the patio. Yes, they’re plastic, yes they’re fantastic, and they’ll weather the storm in style... weather you’re at Versailles or in Vermont.

GO,GO, GADGET GIRLS!
I have bid a not-so-fond farewell to more fantastic phones than I care to recall. You see, swiping and submerging my cells in the bathroom bowl was Ben’s bad-boy habit of choice during his terrible twos. It is in this spirit that we welcome summer’s sweetest cell -- the Casio G’zOne. This cool camera phone passed the military’s toughest tests, so it’s sure to foil even the most determined of diminutive destructors. Granted, it’s neither sleek nor sexy, gilded nor glossy... but poolside, it’s perfect and surfside, it’s sand-proof!

ROAMIN' HOLIDAY
Last year marked the 45th anniversary of one of style’s most famous sons -- legendary designer Garavani Valentino. In the world of Italian fashion, all roads lead to Rome, which is why the young upstart adopted it as his home base in 1959. Like the Eternal City itself, Valentino’s empire wasn’t built in a day; within five years, however, his glamorous, feminine designs had captivated the world. Rome remains enamored of all things Valentino, so why not make a pilgrimage to the place where it all began? Valentino’s chic shop on Via Condotti!

DRESSING FOR THE OCCASION
Dressing your babe-to-be in style is an art form, and from the fecund fashion mind of Lauren Kiyomi comes some of the best bumpwear we’ve seen this season... or any season! Simple, sassy and just a little bit avant-garde -- just the way I like my maternal apparel -- her Little Black Dress with a regal purple satin sash is as iconic as it is elegant. Could there be anything more universally flattering for the fertile physique of the femme fatale?

BIRTHDAY BASH-ING

Welcome to Dylan’s Candy Bar, the shop whose awe-inspiring assortment of 5000 treacly treats has been causing cavities and conniption fits among New York City kids for years. (Plus, there’s an actual candy spa on site, too!) If you’re not lucky enough to live in New York, Florida or Texas, Dylan’s will deliver the party and all supporting props right your door. EVOLUTION OF ECO-FASHION
The apple never falls far from the tree, and the creators of Froote Jewelry have their hearts in just the right place. The result of putting the planet’s needs on par with our own? Beautiful, eco-conscious creations borne from an earth-friendly philosophy of using only untreated stones, ethical production methods and totally green manufacturing. Maybe best of all, Froote’s three distinct lines -- celebrating the sensual, the spiritual and the sublime -- hold most sacred the femininity of the women who wear them. If only all gems were such genius...

ESTATE PLANNING
Whenever my Manolos carve a divot out of a perfectly manicured lawn at some divine garden party, I feel a pang of guilt. Like Capulets and Montagues, oil and water, stripes and plaid, stilettos and sod have waged a brutal turf war for centuries. At last, these eternal rivals have been reconciled in style: The Stiletto Shoe Planter. Instead of a bow at the toe of these sexy sandals, there roots a real live succulent. Just remember to water them, not wear them, lest you end up with a green toe instead of a green thumb...

FORECAST: FAMILY
When Ben was a babe, he loved nothing more than to be on the floor. From cooing and catching some Z’s to creeping and then crawling, my boy was always down in the trenches, exploring the world in front of his nose. If only I’d had a Kensington Playmat back then, tummy time would’ve been an even bigger treat! These posh micro-suede padded play mats -- with or without junior’s monogram -- make a perfect portable parking spot, whether you’re on the go or just hanging out at home. This mat’s a must!

Good thing Good Stock has figured out a way to make genealogy generate some real interest among the next generation. VERDE-LICIOUS
Admittedly, there aren’t many makeup bags out there that could make this material Mama green with envy... but this jolly jade gem from Smythson’s of Bond Street turned me into an emerald-eyed monster the second I saw it! Now that I am expecting again, I’ve added more jingling jewels in honor of our family's new addition!

NOTES ARE NICE
Presentation is paramount, so when I send a thoughtful thanks, my papyrus needs panache. I frame my sentences in style with this delicate peacock, pretty enough to perch on the most magnificent of mantels. It's letterpressed with mint and chocolate brown inks and arrives poshly packaged in a mint envelope.

WINTER WONDER-WEAR
Finding formal maternity wear that isn't a fashion flop is like finding a stiletto heel that doesn't double as toe torture. When I saw this gorgeous Empire-waist scoop-neck gown with a trend-right bubble hem, I knew I would be the Belle of the Ball, bump and all. Christmas came early with this fantastic find! The only thing I need now is a pedicure and some fabulous footwear.

SEASON’S HEATINGS
With a tot in tow and a baby on board, sightseeing stateside seemed a sensible suggestion. I didn't mourn my European excursions once I was satisfyingly smitten by the surroundings at the Sea Island Resort. Ben played his first game of Bingo and adored his afternoon adventures with the junior staff at Camp Cloister - from Pirate Day to the Wild West. I soothed my soul on five miles of private coastline with a morning stroll, a soak in the sun, and an evening swim, while my handsome hubby had a chance to sharpen his stroke by tackling tennis with a trainer!

DERMIS DIVINE
I left the Mediterranean with a passion for the cuisine, several bottles of olive oil, and a serious case of skin-envy! How was I supposed to score such succulent skin stateside? My Barcelona Bath & Body homemade soap has enough skin-nourishing olive oil to keep me splendidly soft.

NEST NECESSITIES
Is it a flower? A slip of the shredder? I love my handmade Julianna Holowka chaos lamp. Like a good dirty martini, it's divinely delicious décor that’s shaken and garnished with a tastefully off-beat twist.

HAUTE HARVEST
That craving courier, my afternoon sweet tooth, doesn’t need an invitation to indulge in Cornet D'Oré. These chocolates are a cornucopia of sinful decadence. Pumpkin what? Granny Smith who? Neuhaus is unrivalled in a luscious league of its own.

PENCIL ENVY
Although the closest I’ve come to an African safari involved searching for a pair of leopard-print Manolo Blahniks on a 95 degree day, these swanky zebra cards are a fashion must. With a letterpressed monogram on the front and matching envelopes lined in chocolate, I can almost hear the clink of crystal champagne flutes.
